"I made the decision to take up the game of golf because it seemed like a great way to spend time outdoors with my friends and family members. As a female beginner with no golf clubs, limited experience playing sports and knowing very little about the game of golf, I was nervous and somewhat intimidated about taking golf lessons. Didn't want to look stupid or embarrass myself. I was told PGA Professional Dennis Murray, at Valley Country Club was the best in the Denver area, so I gave him a call and I am so glad that I did. Dennis was so nice to me right from the start. When I arrived at Valley CC he made me feel so welcome, I felt like a member of the club. We visited for awhile over a cup of coffee, discussed my goals, learning style and what the first lesson would involve. He took me for a golf cart ride around the golf course and pointed out basics about the golf course like the different heights of grasses between teeing areas, fairways and greens. He even showed me how to drive the golf cart. Dennis provided brand new Women's golf clubs for my first lesson and it was so much fun. After the lesson we discussed lesson packages and I purchased one that fit my needs and budget. Coach Murray loaned me a golf club with a training grip to practice my swing between lessons. A month or so later he fit me for a set of clubs that I purchased and continued my lessons with. After 8 lessons I was consistently hitting the ball off the ground and up in the air, playing 9 holes once a week or more and having so much fun. I signed up for another package of lessons and will keep taking lessons and practicing as long as I continue to improve. Coach Dennis Murray is amazing. His laid back approach and ability to communicate makes the instruction so easy to understand and the game easy to learn. But most of all, Coach Murray's nurturing spirit and enthusiasm made me forget all about my concern for embarrassing myself. I recommend Dennis Murray for anyone that wants to take up the game of golf or wanting to play better golf ... he is terrific!"
